In their debut year, Horizon School’s EVolocity team dominated the competition, securing the top spot in the Standard Class and showcasing exceptional engineering skills.

After an impressive performance at the Auckland regional competition, Horizon Classics from Horizon School carried their momentum into the EVolocity National Finals in Palmerston North, making history in their debut year.

Competing in the Standard Class, the team dominated the event, finishing at the top of the national leaderboard. The national competition pushed teams to their limits, with events including a gymkhana, drag race, endurance/efficiency race, and a technical interview with engineers.

Horizon Classics showcased their engineering expertise, strategic driving, and problem-solving skills, excelling in each challenge. Judges were particularly impressed by the team’s vehicle design, innovation, and ability to overcome setbacks throughout the competition. Their hard work and dedication were reflected in their outstanding final placement, securing their spot as the best Standard Class team in the country.

This remarkable achievement marks a milestone for Horizon School’s first-ever EVolocity entry, setting a high standard for future teams and proving that Horizon Classics is a force to be reckoned with in sustainable engineering.
