Welcome to Term 4: A Message from Senior Leadership, Simon Bartlett

Horizon School —

Reflecting on Our Journey and Embracing New Beginnings

Kia Ora Horizon Whānau,

Welcome to the final term of 2024! We appreciate everyone's participation and support this year. From our Year 4-6 school camp at the end of Term 3 to bidding farewell to our seniors this term, it’s been rewarding to see our students embrace new challenges.

We kicked off the new term with Book Week, encouraging students to immerse themselves in the world of reading. We had an engaging lineup of activities that inspired creativity and a love for literature, wrapping up today with a dress-up day that impressed — true to Horizon School fashion.

We also want to recognise the hard work and success of our Evolocity students and teachers, which led to two wins at the Evolocity Race this past weekend. These students are truly putting Horizon on the map!

In Week four, we will have the pleasure of welcoming our new Principal, Daniel Bennett. We look forward to embracing him into our school community and showcasing all that makes our Horizon kura and whānau so special. His vision and leadership will be invaluable as we continue to develop an engaging and nurturing environment for our students. Together, we can cultivate an environment where faith and learning go hand in hand, fostering not only academic growth but also the character, values, and spirit of each student.

Proverbs 22:6 reminds us: “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”  Let’s continue to guide our students on their journey of learning and faith.

Ngā mihi,

Simon Bartlett
