Barista Course: A Taste of Real-World Experience for Gateway and Hospitality Students
Year 12 and 13 students gain valuable skills and 10 NCEA credits through hands-on barista training.
This week, our Year 12 and 13 Gateway and Hospitality students completed a Work Ready Barista course with The Learning Place.
The course gave our ākonga the opportunity to learn about the equipment and ingredients needed to create espresso beverages, develop important customer service skills, and practise safe work practices in a café environment, including espresso equipment cleaning techniques. They had the chance to use the espresso machines to make and serve popular beverages to our teachers.
This course provides students with 10 Level 2 NCEA credits.
