Elijah-Jay shines as goalie in Christchurch International Cup

Each year, Christchurch welcomes young football talent from across the country for the Christchurch International Cup.

This year, the tournament saw the Ricki Herbert Football Academy (RHFA) field three teams: Under 10s, Under 11s, and Under 12s. Elijah-Jay Hepoto, earned a spot on the Under 10's team following his participation in a Ricki Herbert Football Camp in Hamilton this January.

The tournament, held in Christchurch over six days, included three days of intensive training and pre-tournament matches against local clubs, followed by three days of competition. Despite the U10 team meeting just three days before the tournament, they secured a commendable 5th place.

Elijah-Jay made a significant impact, stepping up as goalkeeper and making a series of crucial saves.
