College Update: Years 9-13

2025 has brought an air of excitement in the College

It’s wonderful to see students fully engaged in their learning across the different options that are available this year. New subjects in the senior school have been received positively and both students and teachers are excited to be teaching and learning such a diverse and engaging curriculum.

The Cafe has been set up as a classroom for Hospitality and Mrs Long has been hard at work getting this space ready over the holidays. We have certainly enjoyed the fruits of this labour so far - the excess of lemon cake, chocolate muffins and other baked goods have made their way to the staff via the students and we are blown away by the quality so far.

Business, Biology and Geography have been included as subjects at Year 12 and 13, and subject choices have increased for Year 9 and 10 options, with the inclusion this year of Performing Arts.

The College team is focusing this year on ensuring that communication around learning, assessment and subject specific information are shared in a timely manner with students and whānau. A tool we are using for this is a ‘Google Site’ - a google programme that acts as a website. Whānau have been sent the links to Learning Area Sites and all classes in the senior school have a page on the Learning Area Sites, as well as core subjects for Year 9 and 10. Some Year 9 and 10 options are mainly practical so a Site may not be used and where this is the case, teachers will communicate directly with whānau.

We encourage whānau to use these sites and refer to them regularly. Whenever material is added or changed, you will see the updates. Course Outlines and assessment information can be found on these sites for each course, including the Senior Assessment Calendar.
