A Term of Learning, Growth, and Celebration

Welcome to Term 4! This term is shaping up to be busy and exciting as we wrap up the year. We've already been involved in some amazing activities, and there's plenty more to come.

Ngahere - Exploring the New Zealand Bush

This term, our topic is the Ngahere, the New Zealand bush. We are focusing on the incredible birdlife that surrounds us here in Mahurangi. We'll be learning about local birds such as the Tūī, Pīwakawaka, Kea, Kākāpō, and Dotterel, as well as iconic New Zealand species like the Kiwi and Takahē. The students will have opportunities to observe and explore these fascinating creatures, as well as the unique plants that thrive in our local forests.

Physical Education & Sports

This term, tamariki will focus on Athletics every Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. Activities will include:

  • Discus throwing

  • High Jump & Long Jump

  • Sprints (for Years 4-6)

Students are encouraged to wear their PE uniform on these days and bring:

  • Proper sports shoes

  • A full water bottle

In addition to Athletics, we'll also be participating in a Golf Programme on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Our first session last week was a huge hit, and we look forward to more fun learning opportunities in golf.

Character Focus - Beauty

This term, our special character focus is Beauty. We are exploring how beauty points us toward God's presence and learning to recognise God's true design of beauty in the world around us. This value will be woven through our daily activities as we learn to see beauty in ourselves, others, and all of God’s creations.

Looking Ahead to Christmas

As the year draws to a close, we will be focusing on the joy and celebration of Christmas—the birth of our Creator. Students will enjoy making festive Christmas crafts and participating in activities related to this special season.

We’re looking forward to a fun-filled and educational term with many more exciting adventures ahead.

Important Reminders

As the weather warms up, please remember to send your child to school with:

  • Hat

  • Sunscreen

  • Water Bottle

These are essential to keep everyone safe and comfortable, especially as we spend more time outdoors.
