Year 10-12 Tīeke Dean's Report

Oscar Richardson —

Kia ora whānau of Tīeke Kāhui. Wow, where has the year gone? As I write my final newsletter of the year it is amazing to look back at the huge success of our ākonga (students). Recently our students had their annual market day where they were able to create some awesome products and then sell them. Earlier in the year we had the Polyfest performance, school camps, KidsCan fun run where our students demonstrated our school CARR values.

Although we have had some bumps in the road such as COVID 19, I want to say a huge thank you to our whānau who have been able to support our tamariki. As we have learnt, we don't know what is coming around the corner. It is reassuring to know that Hornby High School has such a great community that comes together and supports one another when needed.

It has been an absolute pleasure to be Tīeke Dean this year. I will be continuing this role next year and can't wait to see all the great things our ākonga do.

Looking forward to next year, our Year’s 10-13 will be coming in on Thursday 3rd of February at 10:30am to have an assembly, meet their wānanga and form teachers and have any questions answered. The following day will be a normal school day. If you have any questions or concerns prior to this, please let me know. I am happy to help any way I can.

Once again, thank you for an awesome year. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas, happy New Year and I look forward to seeing you in February.
