During 2017 Hornby High School Year 7 and 8 students have been attending Technology classes at the Hornby High School Amyes Road campus on a Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons with an additional class also attending on Friday mornings.

During the year a total of 600 students from Hornby High School and six other client schools have enthusiastically taken part in learning opportunities at:

• Design and Technology
  
• Wood Technology
  
• Food Technology
  
• Soft Materials Technology
  
• Technology Challenges
  

Students have a term at each Technology area where they take part in stimulating learning experiences which build knowledge, skill and confidence in this important part of the New Zealand Curriculum.

Construction of the new Technology education facilities at Hornby High School is underway. The current Technology centre at the Amyes Road site will remain in use until the new facilities are completed.
