This year we have an adventurous group of senior students who are taking up debating.
Debating is a formal argument between two opposing sides. Teams support or refute a proposed argument. The Canterbury Schools Debating Society has regular training and competitive debates. Congratulations to the first team to debate this year -Risha, Sofia and Tia - who supported the topic , “we prefer to live in a world where children financially assist their parents when they retire “. Our team had a strong argument built on economic benefits and supporting the individual and whanau’s hauora.
