Student Council

Katie Tozer —

At the start of the year, two members of each form class were elected to represent their class on the student council.

Members of the junior student council have attended regular meetings throughout the year. We have worked together to address issues out in the community and influence change at Hornby High School.

Students have attended a number of events including the World Vision Youth Conference in March and the National Young Leaders Day in May.

A strong partnership was formed with the Greater Hornby Residents Association this year and students have been attending meetings on the last Sunday of every month. This has been a great opportunity to have students represent Hornby High School out in the community. With this group, student council members have been involved in a number of events and initiatives out in the community, such as fundraising sausage sizzles, the community fun day, the logo competition and painting in the Kyle Park tunnel.

A number of mufti days have been held this year. Our most recent mufti day, ‘Coin and a Can’ raised money and cans for the City Mission and the SPCA. Thank you to all student council members for their dedication to the council in 2018.

2019 will be another busy year for the junior student council!
