Year 10-12 Tīeke Dean's Report

Oscar Richardson —

Kia Ora Koutou. What a busy last few weeks we have had. I would like to say a huge thank you to all our ākonga (students) and whānau (family) who have made getting back into the year so easy and smooth, everyone has done a great job.

As we have started 2021, there have been a lot of changes from last year. Our senior dean system is now run through each kāhui just like the junior system. Our Year 10 students and whānau will be familiar with this system. This year Tīeke Kāhui Deans are Miss Liisa Laycock with Years 7, 8, and 9 and myself with year 10, 11, and 12.

Over the past few weeks our students have been throwing themselves into their new subjects of choice, some starting NCEA for the first time. For our Year 11’s, this is a whole new experience with the goal of gaining 80 credits. Our Year 12’s are now in their second year of NCEA and are continuing to strive for the best while our Year 10's are learning to find their passions and follow their interests before they move into NCEA.

To our students, please continue to be organised and respectful, and keep working hard. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me on ra@hornby.school.nz.

Ngā mihi
