Canterbury District Health Board (100’s careers) Event

Louise Edmonds —

A group of keen Hornby High students that were interested in a variety of health professions boarded the taxi shuttle to Christchurch Hospital, Manawa training centre.

The event was for students from Year 11 upwards who were interested in

medical, health professions and, or hospital jobs.

There were a variety of hospital departments there to discuss jobs from entry level to

medical. Professionals talked with the students about what they do and provided

Interactive activities and information booths. There was also a simulation centre,

which meant that the students could interact. One of the activities was where the

students were shown what an anaesthetist does and then given the chance to do it.
