Welcome to Soweda, who is a new student in Year 12.

Term two is a time for students to be really focused on their learning. It is traditionally the term when lots of assessments are marked and returned to students.

Attendance and time management are so important as many students have sports commitments and/or work and need to be able to manage their time so they can keep up with their learning commitments.

Secondary school is only one pathway to gaining qualifications and if your child would prefer to go on a full time course then please contact Mrs Climo and look at the options available. The next enrolment for ARA and SIT starts in July so it is important to apply as soon as possible.

Congratulations to all the students who were part of Polyfest. All the schools were amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed the outstanding performance by our students.

On Thursday, Year 12 students attended the Career Expo and there was a fantastic selection of career choices available.

I would appreciate your support with ensuring your young adult is learning ready each day: Laptop or chromebook, pen and paper, correct uniform and growth mindset.

Remember that you can track your young person’s academic progress through the parent portal. If you do not know how to do this, please contact the school.

Finally, Good luck to Lyrical and Spencer who have accepted an opportunity to attend a course at Outward Bound, which is in the Marlborough Sounds.

Ngā mihi
