Year 10-12 Tīeke Dean's Report

Oscar Richardson —

Kia Ora Whanau of Tīeke Kāhui. I hope everyone has had a great start to Term 4. It's crazy to think it is already November which means the final days of the school year are just around the corner.

Firstly I would like to wish our senior students the best of luck for their external examinations. With hard work and effort comes success and you have all worked so hard this year.  I am excited to see the success continue. It is vital that all of you are organized for your examinations, ensuring you know when they are on, you have the correct equipment, have your NCEA paper slip and you have logged into your NZQA account before your exams. We had an NCEA assembly in which Mr Goodfellow outlined all the information that everyone needs. If you have any questions regarding examinations please do not hesitate to contact me.

To our Year 13’s, your time at Hornby High School is coming to an end and I could not be prouder of the young adults that you have all become. Some are going off to further study and some are going into the workforce but this message goes to everyone. Do something that you enjoy. Life is too short to do something that you don't love so it is ok to do something and realize you don't like it, just as long as you gave it a good go.

Congratulations to our students who have been awarded scholarships for 2023. These were very much deserved and a great way to recognize the hard work you have put in over the years.

Lastly, if your child is not returning to school next year and you have no need for them it would be greatly appreciated if you would donate their school uniform back to the school. This way we can give them to other students who are struggling to get one. If you would like to do this, your children can just bring them to me and I can sort them out.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at ra@hornby.school.nz

Ngā mihi
