Drop for Youth - Jaleel

Jaleel, Year 12 —

The Graeme Dingle foundation is a foundation that helps many kids around Aotearoa, I am one of them. The foundation has three different programs here at Hornby High School, Kiwi Can, Star's, and Project K. This year some of my fellow Star mentors and I put our hands up to be a part of their fundraiser, Drop for Youth.

Each jumper in Drop for Youth has a fundraising target for the foundation and then in return you get to complete a Bungy jump. We each had a set goal to raise, either by selling eco soap or pies & pizza's from the Naked Baker. Most of us raised far more than our targets thanks to all our friends and whānau who helped us get there.

I wanted to take part in the Drop for Youth because I think it's the best way to give back to a foundation that has helped me through so much. Although this was my second time taking part in Drop for Youth, it was still nerve racking. Last time I did a skydive which I enjoyed so much more, the bungy was way more scary.

I am keen to do it all again next year!
