Year 10-12 Tīeke Dean's Report

Oscar Richardson —

Kia Ora Whānau of Tīeke Kāhui

This term is flying by, we have already passed the halfway mark. In saying that, this means time is of the essence for our seniors with only a few weeks left before they go on examination leave.

NCEA recently announced Learning Recognition Credits will be back for a third year in a row due to the impact Covid 19 has had this year. What this means is that due to the disruption in learning this year, students will gain some ‘free’ credits.

Here is a link to the outline of the changes:

https://www.nzqa.govt.nz/ncea/understanding-ncea/changes-to-ncea-and-ue-for-2022/earning-and-using-learning-recognition-credits/

Simply for every 5 credits you achieve, you will earn 1 additional Learning Recognition Credit – up to a maximum of 10 Learning Recognition credits at NCEA Level 1 or 8 Learning Recognition Credits at NCEA Levels 2 or 3. Our students still need to ensure that they are working hard to gain these credits and if possible it would be great if students gained their qualification before they leave for exams.

Here is the 2022 external exam timetable:

Currently we have a number of our students across the country competing in secondary schools sport winter tournaments. Our students demonstrated our CARR values exceptionally well and I am so proud of all the hard work they have put in in order to get to where they are.
