Year 11 Dean's Report

Laurie Tafau —

Kia Ora Koutou, Talofa Lava and hello to our Year 11 whānau.

It seems that we are back into school life and things have revved up with both the learning and assessment parts of the school year.

Over the next few weeks, I will be conducting academic interviews with each Year 11 student, which is a chance to catch up and focus on the learning that is happening and where each student is sitting currently with NCEA credits and progress. Each student will be bringing home paperwork to show you and discuss their subjects and credits with you, so check in with them once their interview has occurred. It has been great to have that time over this week already, and I look forward to the future interviews over the coming weeks.

I would also like to take this time to discuss expectations around uniform as we arrive in the colder months. It is important that students are wearing the school regulation uniform, and provide a note from home if there is an issue around this.

The holidays will be upon us really soon, and Term 3 before we know it. I am proud of how the majority of the cohort have adjusted to life back at school post-lockdown and am really pleased to see the continued growth and progress as we work through the first year of NCEA.

Please continue to contact me via email or a phone call if you have any concerns about your student during this time.

Ngā mihi nui,
Laurie Tafau
