Hornby Youth Voice

Simon Scott —

Kia Ora Whānau, Over the next two weeks students will be given an opportunity to take part in a survey called 'Hornby Youth Voice'. What matters to you?

This survey is to collect the voice of youth in our community to inform the wider community about what our youth are feeling and what they need to thrive in the Hornby community.

Here are the questions they will be asked:

  • What do you wish adults knew about what it’s like to be your age?
  • Who are the supportive people in your life and who encourages you the most?
  • What do think would help people your age to be happy?
  • What role does social media play in your life?
  • How can the big people in your life offer support in helping you to pursue your interest/dreams?
  • What pressures do you feel and how do these impact on your life?
  • How do you feel about the environment and community you are a part of?

All students who participate in this survey will be required to complete a confidentiality slip. This will be provided to the student at the time the survey is taken.
Please note that this is not a compulsory survey and we will be asking for volunteer's.
If you do not wish for your child to participate in this survey please email me (Simon Scott) at sc@hornby.school.nz and I will ensure that your child does not take part in this survey.
All of the information that will be collected from this survey will be presented to the Wider Hornby Community to give all residents of this amazing community a better understanding of how our youth are feeling and what they require to be successful in this community.
I have attached a copy of the confidentiality slip as well as the advertisement for this survey.
If you have any questions or queries please don't hesitate to ask.
Ngā mihi nui
