Senior Deans Report - Tīeke

Oscar Richardson —

Kia ora Family, whanau, and caregivers of Tīeke kāhui The past seven weeks have been very busy, they have gone fast. By now our ākonga (students) are well into the swing of things, working on assessments, some even gaining credits.

Since our last newsletter Hornby High School has had athletics day which was a huge success. This was the first main activity of the year in which the whole school could come together and have an inter-Kāhui competition. It was amazing to see everyone cheering on their classmates, pushing themselves to achieve success. Staff also won the staff vs Year 13 relay!!!

We celebrated our 2022 academic success with an academic assembly. Students were awarded with certificates, badges, and ties, that related to their level of achievement. Once again it was amazing to see so many of our learners gaining endorsements, even more so considering the impact of Covid 19. Let's continue this high level of achievement for 2023.

On the 18th of March Hornby High School also participated in Polyfest 2023. Our students have worked hard over the term and it was amazing to see all their hard work pay off. Congratulations to everyone involved.

Lets continue to strive for excellence in all areas, whether that is in sport, academics, work, getting to school on time, wearing the correct uniform and upholding our school values.

Ngā mihi,

Oscar Richardson
