MYOB, Chartered Accountants New Zealand and the University of Otago Business School ran an event in Christchurch inviting students around the Canterbury district.

Two of our students were invited to participate. 

Otago University asked ex-students, which have now become Chartered Accountants, to talk about their journey. They experienced a real life accounting lecture by one of the top accounting lecturers in the country and had a session with MYOB talking about the impact of AI in the industry in the future.

The day at MYOB was an interesting day of learning about the University of Otago and studying accounting and business in general. I learnt about various skills and roles accountants can have through fun interactive activities with awesome rewards up for grabs. The food provided was also amazing.

During my time at MYOB, I learnt about the University of Otago and how studying there may differ from other univerisities and what CAANZ (Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand) had to offer and their position in the industry. After this, we were given a lecture on accounting by a professor from Otago which included a case study. During this they provided us with free merchandise and more importantly fantastic food. Overall, I found my experience enjoyable and now have a better idea of what my future may look like.
