Year 10-12 Riroriro Dean's Report

Matt Stock —

Kia ora e te whānau. I would like to thank all the students of Riroriro for being super awesome students while I was away with my broken collar bone. The feedback I have had from teachers is, even though students (and teachers) were very tired coming back from Easter, that all of our Kāhui got on with their classwork and finished the term strongly.

Since coming back on Day 1 of Term 2, I have been keeping an eye on everyone and I am very proud of the way that everyone in our Kāhui is focused on their education this term. With NCEA credits starting to flow in, now is a good opportunity to set some goals for the term regarding how many credits (and quality) that you want to achieve by July.

I understand that sometimes you need to have a chat just to refocus yourself – so my door is always open if you want to pop in.

Finally, a quick update on my collarbone…

I have a plate with eight screws. The surgeon is very impressed with how fast I am healing and that is down to healthy eating and getting plenty of sleep. You exercise your brain when at school, so just like a muscle, your brain needs to heal too. So get plenty of sleep and your brain will be better for it.

Ngā mihi
