Kia ora koe. My name is Alex, and I'm currently a Year 13 student at Burnside High School. Together with the support of Forest & Bird (NZ's largest independent environmental advocacy group), I am setting up a new Youth Hub in Christchurch.

A bit about the Youth Hub:

• The Youth Hub will be focused on running youth-generated and youth-run activities, spreading environmental-ideals, and helping to protect and restore New Zealand’s wildlife and environment.
  
• Forest & Bird Youth is a national network of young people (aged 14-25) who care about nature and take action to support it. Our five active hubs are supported by a Youth Advisor from Forest & Bird's National Office, and our 50 localised Forest & Bird branches.
  
• Experience is not needed - just a passion for nature, and a willingness to get involved and make a difference!
  

This will be a brilliant opportunity for secondary school students to provide service to the community and nature, and meet like-minded people.
