Drop for Youth

Lucretia Treadgold —

On Saturday 4 May, the Graeme Dingle Foundation held a Drop for Youth fundraising event in Ashburton with Skydiving Kiwi. There were 36 fundraisers who had to raise over $1000 and then skydive 13000 feet with up to 55 seconds of freefall. We were daring people to step outside of their comfort zone, just like our young people do through our programmes.

At the Graeme Dingle Foundation, we inspire all school age New Zealand children to reach their full potential through programmes that help build self-esteem, promote good values and teach valuable life, education and health skills.

The foundation had amazing supporters from Hornby High School with two teachers, Mr Aitken and Mr Williams and Daunte, a current Project K student. They held a mufti day and a bake sale within the school.

Every dollar raised from this event will be spent on our school-based programmes working alongside young people in our most vulnerable communities, so far over $30,000 has been raised. Our proven programmes are sequenced to create a positive vehicle for change for young people aged 5 to 18 years old. This is what we call the 'Transformational Journey' – a journey that helps our young people become more confident and resilient, find purpose and direction to achieve success.

We want every child to know: What they have inside is greater than any obstacle.
