Vietnam Quiz Night

Anna Taylor —

In April of next year, seven students from Hornby High will be travelling to Vietnam for 21 days.

The trip is broken into three parts, the South in the Mekong Delta where the students do volunteer work interacting with children and helping build parts of the school. They will then make their way north for the second part of the trip in which they have the opportunity to explore, taking in the sights. The third and final section, the trek, involves walking for 3 days and 4 nights through the north of Vietnam.

During the recent holidays the students arranged a Quiz night here at school. They also sold food and drink and raised nearly $1400 dollars. This money will be used to fund their community project resources.

The Quiz was an awesome night and we are very appreciative of the support that we received, not just from friends and family that attended but the many companies that sponsored us with raffle prizes.  Thanks to Fitzgerald Motors, Coca-Cola, Orana Park, Carmen Cafe, Z Service Station, Caltex Service Station, Cochrane Nissan Motors, Wigram Air Force Museum, Hornby Hub.
