Level 3 Outdoor Education.

Alan Kane —

As part of the practical requirements for Level 3 Outdoor Education, our students recently completed the St James Walkway.

Located in the Lewis Pass region it is a 67km long journey that takes five days to complete. It crosses the main divide of the Southern Alps and reaches a height of 1136m above sea level. We departed school on the morning of 30 May and drove to the start of the track. The weather wasn't exactly friendly to us - it rained every day!  Our students really showed our school values of Commitment and Resilience. Five days later we arrived at the end of the track where our van was waiting. As a treat on the way back to Christchurch we visited the Hanmer Springs Hot Pools. Here is a selection of photos from our journey.
