A few of our students have been brave enough to step forward and join a pre-recruitment lifeguard course.

Once a week for four weeks we are going to Jelly Park Pool where the students don their togs and jump into the pool. Tilly and Dot from the Christchurch City Council take them through a hard regime of lengths doing free style, breaststroke, and backstroke. They also must retrieve a road cone and a dummy from the pool giving them the idea of what the weight is like to rescue a child and an adult from the pool.
