Voices with Soul attended the “Voices Festival” in August which showcases contemporary vocal groups and choirs from the Canterbury region.

Now a thriving team of 35 talented singers, we set off on our way to Papa Hou for a day of workshops before the evening performances. The workshops were presented by professional performers where we learnt about the biology of our voice, stage-craft and also the art form of acapella which was a group favourite!

After a busy afternoon we took up our sound check and prepared for our evening performance. The nights entertainment was wonderful and it was a fantastic atmosphere as all of the schools performing watched and cheered each other on. 

We performed two songs, ‘Come Alive’ from The Greatest Showman and ‘Finale B’ from Rent. Both performances were very well received from the audience and at the end of the night we were presented with three special awards. “The Goosebump Award”, “Outstanding Wall Of Sound” and the “Hell Yes Award’. 

Everyone had a brilliant day and we are looking forward to returning to the festival in 2019.
