Council's Community Board recognises outstanding community service
Paris Halliday, Year 11, tonight received a Waipuna/Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board Youth Service Award. The award recognised her outstanding work both within the Hornby High School community and the wider Hornby community.
Paris's award citation (see the separate photo attached here for the full citation) said: "Her involvement has helped to develop and grow strong community connection between Hornby High school and the wider community".
Paris lives our Hornby values of Commitment, Achievement, Resilience, and Respect, and reflects both her own caring and giving nature, and that of our student community. We are very proud of her. Presenting Paris with her award is Mrs Natalie Bryden of the Community Board, herself a tireless worker in and advocate for our Hornby community.
Also receiving an award tonight was Mr Marc Duff, fiercely proud Hornby High School alumnae, and one of the founders of the Greater Hornby Residents' Association. Marc received a 'Certificate of Appreciation' for his work in promoting the growing sense of community that we see around us every day. Well done Marc.
