Kana Shedlock-Whiu —

This season Hornby High School combined with Lincoln High School 1st XV. They succeeded in winning the Bowl in the UC Cup Championship.

Adi McGoon was awarded 'player of the day' chosen by the referees and Canterbury Women’s players. She made amazing runs and tackles and is a super star in the making.

One of own remarkable athletes, Christina, captained the team, showing leadership, passion, and commitment, on and off the field. Her skills demonstrate all the qualities associated with a natural athlete in the making. Christina has also been successful in making the Canterbury Rugby Union Under 18's Team and was awarded Hornby High School Sportsperson of the Year, The Anderson Cup.

Well done on your success Christina. We are proud of your achievements and wish you all the very best for the future. A huge thank you to Mr Albert Wilson for all your support and efforts.

Sports is fun and I have enjoyed it over the years. I could not have done it without my family, who motivate me, especially my parents. They have supported me in whatever I wanted to do. They show up to all my games, even when the games are out of Christchurch. They take me to my trainings and push me to do my best on and off the field. I enjoy all sports involving a rugby ball; Rugby, League, Touch and Tag.

When I grow up, I would like to be a teacher. Teachers have an important job and have an impact on all their students. I want to make a difference in their lives. I have enjoyed playing sport during my time at Hornby High School.
