Six of our students were invited to Otago University’s Health Sciences workshop morning at the Christchurch Hospital named D.A.R.E (Discover Achieve Research Engage).
The students gathered in a huge lecture hall at the hospital and listened to a variety of students who are still progressing through their degrees. These students came from different areas of health such as medicine, dentistry, pharmacy through to radiation therapy, nursing, and biomedical sciences with a focus on Māori and Pasifika health.
We then split into groups where our students got to walk around and interact with professionals and see hands on examples of medical research and a ginormous colon!
An inspirational morning for all of us! And a wider look of the many pathways of health and health sciences.
