Year 10-12 Tīeke Dean's Report

Oscar Richardson —

Kia Ora Koutou. Ten weeks done and dusted, one more to go. I hope everyone had a well deserved break over the Easter holidays and you are looking forward to our school holidays starting soon.

Since our last newsletter Hornby High School has had a number of events which has made for a busy term. Thank you to everyone who came to our learning conferences, it was great to see everyone and to meet some new faces.

We have been able to celebrate the success of our students involved in the Shakespeare Festival, history trips, biology trips, Polyfest and volleyball. Seeing all the hard work that the students had put into Polyfest all the weeks prior, and then seeing their amazing performance was awesome. The senior boys' volleyball showed our CARR values so well, working as a team, showing resilience and coming home with a podium finish.

Coming up in the calendar we have South Island Athletics, so good luck to everyone involved. We also have our school holidays that start on the 17th of April and school starting back on Monday 3rd of May. I hope everyone has a well deserved school holidays.

Just a reminder to our whānau (family) that our students can not have any fast food or takeaways at school and are not able to leave school to buy it during the day.

To our students, please continue to be organised, respectful and to keep working hard. Be learning ready with your device and charger, clean shaven faces, no rings, and correct uniform. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Ngā mihi
