Re-creating stone-age tools and art

Robin Sutton —

As part of their technology and change unit - student's in year 10 social studies have been looking at stone age tools and art.

Today students in 10Bu worked on their stone age art stories as they learnt that people of the stone age shared their experiences through drawings and painting in caves.

With the help of senior students, Ms Leeper and Mr Wilson painted the classroom walls. Student's then applied PVA glue on walls and covered walls with sand from New Brighton Beach.

The students hastened to add that they had the Principal's permission; these are the walls of rooms that will be demolished over the next three months.

They then told stories on the walls much as mankind might have done tens of thousands of years ago , recording their lives in images on cave walls.

Another great example of 'Learn Create Share', and a fascinating lens on creative excellence sure to leave lasting memories and learning for students.
