Year 10 Deans Report

Rowena Clemence —

Kia ora koutou. Thank you for the overwhelming community support we have had for our lateness and attendance drive this term. We are seeing a significant steady decrease in lateness to class and school and it is something our tamariki are talking about avoiding!

This term we must acknowledge the hard work and support of the Mana Wahine Programme within our school. Nine lucky young women were selected for this leadership and self-discipline focused course. This is something that usually we would nominate a couple of girls for, however, thanks to our amazing Counsellor Sarah Kavanagh, we were able to secure funding for a Hornby High School group. We look forward to experiencing the benefits of this programme in years to come.

Project K is happening and our lucky recipients by now have been informed. Congratulations to you all, the next few weeks are going to be life-changing.

If you have signed up for the Vietnam/Cambodia trip via Antipodeans, please keep coming to the meetings so that you can keep up to date with what needs to happen.

Finally, I have included the picture above showing three Year 10 students working on science and art tasks during their own time. They asked me not to include their faces. Scenes like this make me very proud. I am sure you would feel the same.
