National winners of the CREST Challenge

Andrea Wall —

Towards the end of last year, Hornby High students Fleur Johnson-Dunn, Kimberley MacKinnon, and Zoe Evans designed an app to help people with Alzheimer's, and their families. Hornby High School was selected as the regional winner of the TechHub CREST Challenge and flown to Wellington.

Students were welcomed by the Royal Society, toured around the DataCom and TradeMe offices, met the IT Minister Claire Curren at the Beehive, and awarded the national winners at the Welltech Conference.

The team was awarded $1500 in prize money that goes entirely to the students.
