On Wednesday the 28th of August we had four teams - 16 Hornby High School students competing in the annual Cantamath competition where they competed against the top mathematicians Canterbury has to offer.

The teams consisted of:

Year 7: Harry, Kadyn, Cody, and Risha 

Year 8: Axle Brigs, Zayd, Tobey, and Nathan

Year 9: Gregory, Lauren, Michaela, and Tia 

Year 10: Pearl, Jessica, Nathan, and Presayus 

Four teams from Years 7 to 10 put in hours of practise during their lunch and intervals as well as in their own time. They gained very pleasing scores, making our school proud. The teams worked well together. 

Thank you to everyone involved in helping the teams along the way, particularly the senior helpers, Zyromme, Jerico, Amy, Xing, Cameron, Johnny, Roanne, and Alyana, who were committed to helping the teams practise during lunch and interval.
