“When I dance, I forget everything else and just feel completely happy.” Katherine Jenkins

Contemporary dance practises have kept the new Kakariki (Green Room) busy and the Auditorium has reverberated with several wonderful cultural dances.

It started with Polyfest, then Filipino events, and the weekly kapa haka group. All of these large groups showed considerable dedication to rehearsals. The dance leaders and tutors all did a wonderful job preparing the dance routines, props, makeup and the costumes for these vibrant dances.

Small groups often spent breaks rehearsing, talented year 7 & 8s preparing for hui, year 10’s polishing Musical dance numbers and duos practicing for talent quest.

We also hosted hordes of primped and polished teams competing in the Primary School Hip Hop and Aerobics competition.

Who will forget the ZOMBIES being coerced by Michael Jackson (aka Mr Phil Daines) in the staff dance for Leavers assembly!
