Joanne Clark —

We are very lucky to have 6 exceptional musicians that teach instrumental music at Hornby High School.

Joe McCallum on Drums, Annabel Harold on Voice, Ray Mcmurdo on Guitar, Mike Fudakowsi on Bass, Marie Gutsell on Piano and this year we welcomed Fiona Oudshoorn on Piano and Woodwind.
Fiona replaced Neville Forsythe who sadly passed away at the start of the year. Neville had taught Piano at Hornby for the last 4 years, he was a wonderful teacher who cared about his students, had a fantastic sense of humor, and was an extremely talented musician. We miss him dearly and he will always be remembered by his Hornby whānau.
A big thank you to our Itinerant team. It has been quite a tricky year to teach instrumental music, we appreciate them and all of the musical experience they bring to our tamariki.
In the Itinerant Spotlight this year... Highlighting student success in the past 12 months:
Fiona Oudshoorn (Piano / Woodwind ITM) reports that Axle Sangalang, a committed music student is a member of the the Canterbury Schools Regional Orchestra, playing piano. In addition, Axle is making excellent progress as a beginner clarinetist.
