UC CGTA Geo-Soc Yr 11 Geo Quiz

This year the normal National Geography Quiz for year 11 students did not go ahead. However, the University of Christchurch, Christchurch Geography Teachers Association and Geo-Soc decided to go ahead with it’s own competition for the Canterbury region.
Natasha, Nidhi, and Nathan, represented our school. The competition covers a wide range of geography from recognising flags to identifying countries by relevant information. It includes local knowledge and geographic skills.
With almost 20 teams taking place Hornby High School proudly placed 4th overall being only 1 point behind joint 2nd and 3rd place getters. They had a great night and I was amazed by the knowledge they brought to the competition.
