On Saturday 13th March the Hornby High School Polyfest group gave an amazing performance at the Canterbury Polyfest in Christchurch.

Kia ora e te whānau. We are well on our way to week seven, where a year ago we were heading into lockdown. So far so good.

Kia ora whānau. These are exciting times to be a student (or a teacher) at Hornby High School!

Kia ora koutou. Term One has been great so far!

Kia Ora Koutou. Wow, it's already week seven. The past seven weeks have been super busy and have gone fast. By now our ākonga (students) are well into the swing of things, working on assessments and some even gaining credits.

If your child has been a part of our Uru Mānuka cluster at any time during her/his primary years you will most likely have heard those words (Manaiakalani, and ‘Learn Create Share’). If you are new to our kura and to Uru Mānuka, these may well be new words for you. What do they mean, and why do they matter?

Year 12 and Year 13 History classes went to Tūranga Library in town. It's an amazing resource to have and our students were amazed at what they found for their research assessment.

We have a number of past students who are now staff here at Hornby High School, and this year we are pleased to introduce two more.

Reminder - conferences will take place next Thursday 25 March. There are no scheduled classes on this day.

So far we have Hangi, Coffee, Nachos, Pacific Foods, Filipino Foods and Japanese Food. We would love to have have more.

2021 has an amazing group of Star mentors who gave up some of their holidays to complete the Stars training and are now in the swing of Stars lessons with the new Year 9 students.
