My name is Mellany Azotea and I am standing for the Board of Trustee for Hornby Primary School. 

I have a child, Friday, at Hornby Primary School in Year 6. I am married to Arnold and much of my time is spent with my family and teaching English as a second language online.

My family and I moved to New Zealand from the Philippines 5 years ago and love living our lives here since the day we arrived.

Prior to coming to New Zealand, I used to be an English language proficiency trainer to professionals and fresh university graduates in the Philippines. When we came to New Zealand, Arnold and I started volunteering at Active Minds Aotearoa in Palmerston North where we assist children through holiday programmes. Because of this, we were both recognised as Volunteers of the Year in 2015 by Volunteer Resource Centre-Manawatu.

I would love to be a member of the Hornby Primary School Board of Trustees.
