Our community challenge this term has been zero waste healthy lunches.

 Why did we choose this as a focus? A couple of reasons, firstly the massive amount of rubbish that tamariki were bringing to school was becoming a huge problem as we try to promote looking after our environment. Many of the lunches that tamariki were bringing to school seemed to be lots of packets and bits of processed food.

With everyone on board we have managed to turn both of these things around really quickly. Yesterday we hit our personal best with 97% of our tamariki bringing zero waste lunches to school. This is incredible, the lunches are also super tasty and the tamariki are proud of how it is all going.

We are aiming for 100% and we are well on the way. Taukē!
