Things to know about this week...

It is a busy week this week with cross country, celebrations of learning and end of term. Here is some information about them.

Holidays: The term ends on Thursday for Easter and the term break. School reopens on Wednesday 26 April. Monday 24th April is a teacher only day. The staff will be doing professional development on the new Curriculum. Tuesday 25 April is ANZAC day. The commemoration at school starts at 9:00 am. All are welcome to attend. The Greater Hornby Residents Association will provide morning tea afterwards.

Cross Country: This event starts at 11:15 at Kyle park. It would be great to see you there. The children have been doing some great training for this event.

Shared Lunch / Celebration of Learning: After the cross country you are invited to come back to school for a shared lunch with your children. After lunch play, the children will share their learning from this term. Some work will be completed, other work will be the learning so far. You are more than welcome to wander into other classes and see what has been happening there. If some children don't have parents present, please ask them to share with you. We ask that the children return to school at 6:00pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, to share their learning with the parents who were unable to attend earlier. Working parents and extended whānau - this is for you.

Playground: When students arrive tomorrow they will see that the Junior playground upgrade has started. The contractors came in yesterday and removed the old playground and set up the fencing around the area. The playground will be out of action until the end of the first week back - all going well. Please talk to your children about staying clear of the fenced area.

I hope the week starts well. I hope to see you this Wednesday.
