Greetings Hornby School Whanau,

I hope the year has got off to a great start for you all.

I am the School Community Officer for Hornby Primary which means I have regular interactions with the school for a variety of reasons.

Recently, I have discussed issues of road safety for our children outside the school. I am acutely aware of the busy nature of Waterloo Road and thank the vast majority who adhere to road safety provisions to ensure everyone is safe.

 Unfortunately I am also aware that there is a minority of people valuing their convenience above the general safety of our tamariki. Be reminded that parking over yellow lines, double parking and excessive speed is unsafe behaviour and persons detected breaching should expect to receive infringement notices.

Please continue to support our wonderful road patrol team who role model the type of positive behaviour and image of safety we all share for Hornby Primary.
