2023 Uru Mānukua Student Summit
Today we had another successful Student Summit with nine students presenting three workshops in front of other students from local schools.
Each year, senior students from the Uru Mānukua cluster have the opportunity to present and attend a range of workshops. This year we had three groups creating their own presentation and teaching others how to use Blooket, a fun quiz creating website, Storyboard That, a comic strip creator and how to use Minecraft for Education. A big mahi pai to Aria, Nevaeh, Faye, Emma, Subreen, Shreeya, Maryberth, Harmony, Hazel and Shahin for all their effort in planning and presenting their workshops. They did a marvellous job and showed Manawaroa by stepping out of their comfort zones and represented our school proudly.
We also had 12, Year 5 and 6s students join the presenters to attend various workshops run by students from South Hornby, Gilberthorpes, Wigram and Yaldhurst. Everyone enjoyed their morning and the chance to learn new skills. They had time to complete three blog posts. Their next step is to teach their teachers and class mates!
