Te Whānau Tupu Ngātahi o Aotearoa - Playcentre Aotearoa, is a well known and loved Early Childhood organisation with over 80 years of supporting parents to take the lead in their children’s learning through play. Playcentre operates 400 Playcentres throughout the country.

A Session Facilitator assists parents/ caregivers and whanau on session to ensure sessions run smoothly, parents are supported in their role as kaiako and children's needs are catered for, while role modelling Playcentre philosophy and current practices and fostering whānau-led culture, supporting emerging leadership and supporting parents in gaining the skills and tools to become more confident in running sessions themselves.   

Hororata Playcentre are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Session Facilitator to join our well-resourced and vibrant Playcentre Community. You will work alongside our members and tamariki to guide session activities, facilitate learning using child led play and positive guidance, support planning and assessment for learning and positively support the Playcentre education programme. You will be a leader who encourages others to thrive; you will model Playcentre philosophy and good practice while supporting whānau to gain confidence to have a go themselves.

A day in the life of a Session Facilitator at Hororata Playcentre would see 3 hours on session time as well as some non-contact time to support the centre to meet compliance and licensing requirements. A sound knowledge of the ECE Licensing Criteria and internal evaluation process would be advantageous.

Position Details: Hororata Playcentre, located in the Community Hall, Hororata Mondays & Fridays, 9am – 3.30pm, during school term time only. This is a permanent position beginning 17 October 2022.
