A goodbye to Pauline Pearce
On the 1st of September 2023 Pauline Pearce passed away at her home surrounded by family after a short illness. A Celebration of Pauline's life will be held in the Hororata Domain on Sunday 29th October at 2pm.
Pauline was a ball of energy! If something needed to be done in our community you could count on Pauline stepping up to do it! She is a volunteer for the Hororata Golf Club, Hororata Historical Society, Glentunnel Museum, Rural Women, and events like the Hororata Highland Games, Swap Meet and Glow Festival. Her welcoming hospitality at these events made visitors feel part of our community and they always want to come back because of it.
You could find Pauline down at the golf club helping clean carts, welcoming golfers, providing catering and more. She helped the museums with cataloguing and managing these unique collections.
Pauline served our community by rolling up her sleeves and doing what needed to be done, always with a smile. She always had time to chat and was a forward-thinker helping people see the bigger picture.
We will miss Pauline's passion and energy in many aspects of our community but most of all we miss her friendship. Our thoughts are with Pauline's family and close friends as they come to terms with her loss.
Pauline's family invites people to a celebration of her life in the Hororata Domain on Sunday 29th October at 2pm. Please enter through the gates where the flag poles are (opposite Duncans Rd). You are welcome to bring your own chair.
