Q: When do entries open?

A: Entries to all competitions open 1st September each year

Q: When do entries close?

A: Closing dates vary, see the relevant competition page for details

Q: Do competitors need to buy tickets?
A: Competitors' entry includes your tickets, your supporters need to buy tickets, watch out for early bird discounts.

Q: Are there competitor changing facilities?
A: Yes we have change facilities, the entrance is beside the Tartan Club

Q: What time do gates open?

A: Gates open to competitors at 7.30am. We recommend you come in gate C and park in park 4. You can enter either through the main ticketing gate or the competitor's entry. See map for details.

Q: Can we bring food and drink in?

A: There are many food options at the Games at affordable prices. Most of the food outlets are run by Community Groups as fundraisers. The venue has a licensed Bar serving alcoholic beverages, no BYO alcohol please.

Q: Does the event continue if there is wet weather?

A: Yes! Being a true Scottish event it is held wet or fine. The Dance stage is covered but spectators will need to bring their own shelter. If very wet dancing will move to the Hororata Hall. Heavy events may be restricted if wet due to safety reasons.

Q: Can we bring our dogs?

A: No dogs sorry

Q: What if I need to cancel my entry?

A: You can cancel your entry up until the closing date and receive a refund however after the closing date there will be no refund. Contact games@hororata.org.nz if you need to cancel.

Q: Will we need COVID vaccine passes?

A: The event will operate to the current government guidelines at the time, if the government has no requirement for vaccine passes then they will not be required.

Q: Do you have Eftpos facilities at the event?

A: We do have Eftpos at the Gate, no credit cards are accepted. You can get cash out once in the venue at the ATM’s, however, we recommend you bring some cash with you. The Bar is cash only.
