Congratulations Whaea Kath, we look forward to you starting your new DP role in Term 2.

We are very excited to see Mrs Kath Mitchell (Whaea Kath) transitioning into her new Deputy Principal role starting in early Term 2. Kath will be stepping out of her teaching role in Year 5 and taking over the duties formerly actioned by Tracey Hopkins. Kath is a long serving Hukanui teacher and leader with an extensive educational background, and we look forward to her leading outcomes for Hukanui and our community.

We do have the talented Mrs Sanna Murto taking over the Year 5 class in week 2 and Mr Mike Fitness (Acting DP) taking over the Year 5 leadership duties. Mike has been a former team leader, across school lead and digital coordinator in his Hukanui career, so this will ensure stability and continuity of practice.

Exciting changes all round and nice to see Hukanui continuing to grow in expertise and capability.
