It's incredible to think we have already completed four weeks of learning and are already starting to anticipate spring time and the warmer months to come. The pace within Hukanui continues to accelerate and the learning activity across the school is a real source of celebration.

I do want to thank all the wonderful families who responded to the Hukanui Community Survey over the past fortnight. Your positive affirmation and feed forward have meant a great deal to us. We do hope to share the final analysis with you all over the coming weeks. I have to admit that two of the common themes to emerge in regards to developing Hukanui have caused us some deeper conversations. These pertained to; improving the car parking for parents and the potential of taking Hukanui through to Year 8. The stark reality being that we do not have the capacity to go to Year 8 and we are blessed in regards to be surrounded by outstanding Intermediates. As far as car parking goes, this is mostly beyond our realm of control and pretty much dependent on the ability of our parents who drive to be respectful, patient and adhere to road rules. We are also unique in Hamilton that we have the Chartwell Mall parking to support.

As most of you will be aware this week we are celebrating all things Mathematical and finishing with our Math Open Morning on Friday. I have had a great time problem solving, playing maths games and sharing learning with classes. I have included a few small problems in the images below that I hope you may enjoy. They were aimed at Year 5&6 but we did have a few Year 4's sort them quickly!

Some of the highlights for our children of the fortnight would have to include the Year 6 Ski Trip, our Hukanui Eco Champions featuring in the Waikato Times for their sustainability work, our Electives workshops really grinding into gear and the build up to cross country and fun run.
