When you walk into our classes you will notice our teachers using specific skills to facilitate structured literacy learning which includes foundation skills such as decoding and higher level literacy skills like written expression. We utilise a school-wide spelling programme, with its foundations based on the code by Liz Kane. Assessments allow us to ensure all students are placed at the correct level for their individual learning and focus on appropriate literacy goals individualised to each learner.
